It never gets boring typing in all-time high numbers and while Wall Street and the rest of the world awaits a market pullback, the bulls keep putting on a show.
The Dow gained 84 points, or 0.6%, to settle at 14,539 on Thursday. The blue-chips went out at another all-time high and at their peak after nailing down their tenth win in a row. If the Dow can add to its streak and end in the green today, it would make it 11-straight and the 11-straight Friday the index has closed higher. Incredible.
The S&P added 9 points, or 0.6%, to finish at 1,563. The index close at a fresh 52-week high and is just 2 points from a closing all-time high reached back in October 2007. The intraday high is 1,574.
The Nasdaq was up 14 points, or 0.4%, to close at 3,258. Tech also closed at a 1-year high and traded above 3,250 all session long. The Russell 2000 popped 9 points, or 1%, to end at 953 and all-time highs again while the S&P 500 Volatility Index ($VIX, 11.30, down 0.53) tanked nearly 5% and went out at fresh 52-week lows.
We have a lot to talk about this morning so let’s hit the Members Area. Futures look like this: Dow (+2); S&P 500 (+1); Nasdaq 100 (+4).
